The church is dedicated to St. Augustine and was built with pink stone, its main altar is from the early eighteenth century carved with wood and gold plated, the rest of the decoration of the church was built in the mid-twentieth century. Its feast day is August 28th. The statue in front of the church of St. Augustine is from the Bishop of Oaxaca Bartholomew Carrasco, who was born in Tlaxco.
