Sultepec - Tecoaque

The archaeological site of Sultepec-Tecoaque, is a settlement that was occupied by people Teotihuacan Classic period (300-500 AD) and Acolhua Postclassic (AD 1300-1520) stands as one of the pre-Hispanic cities that managed to capture one of caravans of Hernán Cortés in 1520, when the Spanish convoy heading toward Tenochtitlan, from the Villa Rica de la Vera Cruz, was intercepted by the Acolhuas, and those captured were offered in sacrifice to various deities. "

It has 32 hectares, is comprised of approximately 15 structures distributed in a ceremonial center with four temples and a residential area, the same as in the last two years of exploration, found skeletal remains of children who were offered up for 700 years, so as 12 wells (underground reservoirs to hold rainwater) with various pre-Hispanic objects.

At mile 33 of the federal highway Mexico - Veracruz (No. 136).
At 500 meters from San Felipe Sultepec Poblado. Calpulalpan, Tlaxcala.
It can be reached by public transport from Calpulalpan.

Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00 hours.

Admission Price

Free for opening, until January 2013.
