Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Ocotlán

General Information

In 1541 came the appearance of the Virgin to the Indian Juan Diego Bernardino, who was asked to build a temple.

The Basilica of Ocotlan notable for its facade and towers of white mortar inside beautiful Baroque style and the dressing room of the virgin.

Centers is one of the most important Marian pilgrimage of Mexico. On your way through the basilica be sure to visit the holy water hole dug.


As in all the temples, we remind you not to take flash photography and refrain from taking pictures if there is mass. To visit the dressing room that is the work of most impressive baroque art that this church keeps, you need to have a guide if not you will not be permitted to enter.
